Pricing and Quotes | Your Laptop Repair
JOB · PRICINGEvery repair is quoted in writing before work starts. This page explains how a price is built, what the typical bands look like, and what a written estimate will and will not cover. The form at the bottom starts a request; it commits you to nothing.
How a price is built
- Diagnosis. Some faults can be priced from a clear description, and some cannot. Where a fault is ambiguous, the estimate names a diagnostic charge so there are no surprises.
- Parts. The part is usually the largest line. Availability and the model decide most of it, and some older machines carry parts that are simply scarce.
- Labour. Bench time, set against how far the machine has to come apart. A battery that lifts out is quick; a keyboard under a sealed top case is not.
- Testing. Every job ends with a test run, and that time is included in the quoted price rather than added afterwards.
Typical price bands
| Service | Band | What moves it |
|---|---|---|
| Battery replacement | Lower to mid | Part price and how the battery is retained |
| Panel replacement | Mid | The panel itself; labour is modest by comparison |
| Keyboard or trackpad | Lower to mid | Whether the top case must come off |
| Charging socket | Lower | Soldered or plug-in; access to the board |
| Board-level or liquid damage | Mid to upper | Depth of diagnosis and part availability |
What the written estimate covers
- The work the workshop expects to carry out, in plain language.
- A price band, and the point at which the price would have to change.
- Any diagnostic charge, stated before the work rather than after.
- What happens if a second fault is found: the workshop stops and asks.
- The workmanship warranty that will apply to the repair.
What it does not cover
An estimate is not a promise that no further fault exists on a machine that is already failing. A laptop that will not power on may have more than one problem, and the second one can only be found once the first is out of the way. What we do promise is that you will be told before any extra work is done and before any extra cost is incurred. If that extra cost is not worth it to you, the job closes at whatever stage it has reached, and you are told exactly where it stands.
No-cost parts of the process
Reading your request, matching it to a workshop and receiving an estimate carry no charge. If you decline the estimate, there is nothing to pay unless a diagnostic charge was named in advance and the workshop has already done that diagnosis. Nothing is ordered, opened or billed without your written agreement.

Tell us about the fault and we will route it to a matched workshop. Nothing on this form is transmitted from this page; the button opens a confirmation page and a coordinator will reply by email.
